Mount Charleston, at 11,918 ft (3,362 m), is the highest point of the
Spring Mountains, and Nevada's third highest peak. Mount Charleston is
located approximately 35 miles northwest from Las Vegas. The Spring Mountains
divide the Pahrump Valley and Amargosa River basin from the Las Vegas
Valley.
